Comments: Early Feb 69 I was the commander of the bunkerline guard that included Muleskinner. We spotted 20-30 persons trying to penetrate the perimeter. Fired all weapons, mortar illumination rounds, they disappeared and things calmed down. The next morning as I was packing for Camp Alpha, a LT from DISCOM came in and told me "The DISCOM commander wants somebody's * * *" for all the rounds expended, meaning a art 15. Told him .... and went to the Bn Cdr. One hour later I was on a UH1 (3/4) Cav and out of there. Several weeks later (in US) saw the cover of Time ? I guess those rounds were more valuable that chinooks ?
